Auourd'hui avait lieu une conférence de presse pour annoncer le Stade Saputo et ses batisseurs. Par la suite, les joueurs de l'Impact y ont fait leur premier entrainement sur cette magnifique pelouse et ils en ont même profité pour faire un petit match entre pour le bonheur de la Presse. Today, there was a Press Conference to announce the builders of the Saputo Stadium. After, the Impact players went on and trained for the first time on the Saputo Stadium pitch, they even played a small match for the pleasure of the Press. .

Une des touches finales était l'arrivée de l'écran géant. Le personnel de Solotech ont passé une bonne partie d ela journée du 2 mai à installer ce fameux panneau immense. L'installatin des hauts-parleurs se faisait en même temps! Plus de photos suivront Lundi soir prochain (5 mai). On peut remarquer aussi que deux scènes sont actuellement amménagé sur la partie Sud du terrain. Je me demande bien qu'est-ce qu'il y aura la? Vous remarquez quelque chose de nouveau sur l'immeuble de l'Impact? Si oui, vous saurez ou trouver vos ailes de poulets lors des matchs de l'Impact ;) One of the final touches was the arrival of the giant video screen. The employees of Solotech assembled the structure for most of the day of may 2nd. the installation of the speaker system was done at the same time. More pictures will be posted on Monday (may 5th). I noticed that two stages were assembled at the South part of the field, I'm wondering what those will be for? Did you notice something new on the building of the Impact? If you did, you'll know where to find your chicken wings during a game of the Montreal Impact! ;)

Petite mise à jour aujourd'hui! J'ai pu voir le début de l'installation des siège VIP, installé tout juste devant les loges, c'est vraiment Top Class! Une pelle mécannique nivelait le terrain qui servira de terrain a 7 tout juste derrière la tribune populaire. L'inscription STADE SAPUTO à été installé sur ce qui va devenir le point d'entrée principale au stade. Pour terminer cette mise à jour, je vous offre un petit panoramique depuis le sommet de la section 220. Small update! Today, I saw the first VIP seats installed, these are just in front of the VIP rooms tey are Top Class! The 7 player field was being leveled today just behind the popular stand. The STADE SAPUTO sign as been installed on what will become the main entrance to the stadium. And to finish this update I offer you a panoramic view from the top of section 220

Et voilà c'est reparti! Beaucoup d'activités au Stade Saputo cette semaine. Les travailleurs sont en plein rush puisque c'est dans 6 semaines que le premier match aura lieu. Cette semaine, plusieurs escaliers ont été ajouté soit 1 près de la plate-forme dans la tribune principale, une près des toilettes et une qui monte vers les bureaux de l'Impact. La dalle de béton qui recevra le paneau vidéo à été coulé et finalement la touche que j'attendais depuis longtemps... Les lettrages et le logo de l'Impact ont été posé sur l'immeuble! PRENEZ NOTE QUE D'ICI LE MATCH D'OUVERTURE, JE FERAI DES MISE À JOUR À CHAQUE SEMAINE. Here we go again! A lot of activity this week at Saputo Stadium. The workers are in a big rush to complete all what needs to be done since it's in 6 weeks that the first game will be held at Saputo Stadium. This week, multiple stairways have been installed, 1 near the stage in the main stand, 1 near the washrooms and 1 on the side of the main building. Workers made the concrete slab that will host the piers to hold the video scoreboard. And last but not least, what I have been waiting for , for a long time, the Impact logo and lettering have been installed on the building, it's really hot! PLEASE NOTE, UNTIL THE OPENING MATCH I WILL MAKE WEEKLY UPDATES ON THIS WEBSITE.

Voilà un peu plus d'un mois depuis la dernière mise à jour. Pas beaucoup de changement mise à part une loge corporative complété à 80%. J'en ai profité pour faire quelques clichés des estrades enneigées. La neige sur le terrain atteint par endroit plus d'un mètre d'épaisseur! It's been a little over a onth since my last visit at the stadium. Not too much change besides a VIP lodge that is now 80% complete. I took the time to take some pictures of the stands and snow... at some area the snow is over 1 meter thick.

Voici les photos prisent le 22 février soit le jour avant l'arrivée des employés de bureaux de l'Impact de Montreal. Vous pourrez aussi voir les loges avec la devanture complète, toute en verre! Il y a de cela 45 semaines, il y avait seulement qu'une vieille piste d'athlétisme ici et voilà que nous avons des bureaux et un magnifique stade de soccer. Il reste encore quelques petites choses à régler mais nous pouvons maintenant dire: Rêve réalisé! Here are the photos taken on febuary 22nd wich is 1 day before the arrival of the office employees of the Montreal Impact. You can also see the VIP lodges are almost completed, all made of glass! 45 weeks ago, only an old athletic track was here and now here we are with a beautifull soccer stadium. Still a few things to be done but I think that today we can say that a dream has been realized!

Voilà, l'aventure tire à sa fin malheureusement. À partir d'aujourd'hui, les mises à jour seront sporadiques. La semaine prochaine le Stade recevra le restant des meubles de bureau en début de semaine prochaine et le personel de l'Impact feront le déménagement alors que l'équipe sera au Portugal pour leurs deuxième entrainement en Europe. La prochaine mise à jour risque d'être dans environ 7 à 10 jours et ensuite la prochaine ira probablement seulement lorsque la neige sera fondu et que le personel apporterons les touches finales à l'extérieur du stade (fixation des bancs, installation du panneau de pointage etc...) So here we are, the adventure is soon coming to an end. Starting today, the updates will be sporadic. Next week, the Stadium will recieve the remaining of it's furniture. The personel of the Impact should move in in the new facilities when the team will be in Portugal for their Eurpean training camp. the next update should be in about 7 to 10 days and after that, the update should be only when the snow will be pretty much all melted. At this time the personel, should be giving the final touches to the stadium (fixing the seats to the concrete and installation of the scoreboard etc...)

Hier, j'ai eu la chance de rendre une petite visite au Stade.. le soir! C'est la première fois que je prenais la peine de me rendre le soir sur place. Puisqu'il y a aucun employé de la construction le soir, j'ai du prendre des photos de l'autre coté de la clôture, un peu comme dans les débuts de ce site web. Pour les photos de soir comme celles présentés ici, j'applique une technique de traitement d'image que l'on appelle l'effet de Orton, ce qui donne une espèce de flou aux images, je trouve sa particulièrement beau dans des images de soir comme ça. Yesterday evening I had the chance to go take a look a the stadium while it was dark outside. it's the first time that I took the time to go there at night. Since there's no construction employees at night, I had to take the pictures from outside the fence, just like in the beginning of this website. For night pictures like these I like to add a special effects to the pictures, it's called the Orton effect wich gives a small blur and glow to the images, I find it neat for images like these. Un peu de changement encore depuis la dernière visite. La peinture avance et le mobilier à commencé à faire son entrée. Possiblement que dans deux semaines, la chambre des joueurs sera complété. Bonne Année à tous! J'espère que vous avez eu bien du plaisir durant la période des fêtes. Alors pour 2008, ont se souhaite une superbe saison dans le Stade Saputo! Cela faisait du bien de retourner faire un shooting photo au Stade. La peinture à maintenant débuté, la pose de céramique est pratiquement terminé, bref, il y a un peu de changement. Cependant, nous tombons dans une période ou le changement n'est plus si radicale, alors dorénavent à moins d'avis contraire, les shooting photo se feront au 2 semaines. Pour l'instant, je vous laisse avec les photos de la semaine! Happy New Year to all! I hope that you have had a good holiday season. For 2008, we will wish for a good first season in the new Saputo Stadium! It was good to go back to the stadium to take some new pics. Workers have started painting, ceramic tiles are installed, things are going well. Altough! Work progress is in a state where it's a little bit slower, so unless of something special, I will schedule my visits every 2 weeks from now on. For now, I leave you with this weeks pictures.

Le Temps des Fêtes est parmis nous! Aujourd'hui, je vous offre ce qui risque d'être probablement la dernière mise à jour de 2007. Voilà déjà 8 mois que je débutais ce projet de site web. Avec plus de 200 heures investis dans la prise de photos et de temps de confection de ce site web, je crois que je peu dire que l'année se termine en beauté! J'aimerais prendre cette occasion afin de vous remerciez du fond du coeur, vous les supporters et fans de l'Impact, de faire de ce site web, une référence de la construction du Stade Saputo. Merci pour vos nombreux e-mails et merci aux quelques personnes qui ont fait des dons pour ce site web. J'aimerais vous souhaiter un joyeux Temps des Fêtes, mais surtout soyez prudent sur les routes, en espérant vous voir dans le tout nouveau Stade Saputo la saison prochaine! Finallement, un énorme merci à Joey Saputo et toute son équipe de l'Impact de Montréal de me donner accès au chantier de construction afin de pouvoir vous offrir sur une base régulière des mises à jour. Ah! voici enfin une nouvelle mise à jour. Depuis quelque temps, les conditions météo m'ont donné du trouble, mais bon... je suis retourné hier faire un nouveau shooting et il y a eu un peu d'avancement. Les ouvriers sont à faire l'asphaltage avant que la température soit trop froide. L'installation des bancs avancent et la toiture du gradin était presque terminé. Here's finally a new update. Since a couple of days, the weather conditions have not been to great for doing photography so that explains mostly why the web site skipped one week.. I went doing photos yesterday and things are getting along darn good! The asphalt is being made, the roofing of the main stand is now almost complete.

Et voilà! Nous reverrons la pelouse de notre beau stade qu'au printemps prochain puisqu'une énorme toile couvre maintenant la pelouse pour la protéger de nos hiver parfois rigoureux. Le toiture du grandin principale est maintenant en cours d'installation. Les trois dernières photos vous montrent le vestiaire de l'Impact et la future salle de musculation. Here we go! Time for winter. we won't see the pitch until next spring since the field is now covered with a special covering to protect it from our winter. The roofing of the concrete stand is now being installed. The last three pictures shows the Impact locker and the gym room.

Pas beaucoup de nouveautés pour aujourd'hui. Je suis allé au Stade aujourd'hui pour principalement vous préparez un superbe panorama de 360° !!! Ce panorama sera pret très prochainement. Les fenêtres des bureaux administratifs sont pratiquement tous installées. Cette semaine, les ouvriers ont débutés la maçonnerie de la façade de l'immeuble. Not too much new these days at Stade Saputo. Today, I went there to take pictures to prepare you with a brand new panoramic view of the stadium. This time the panorama will be a full 360° !!! It will be ready shortly. The windows of the main building are almost all installed, it looks really good and now this week, workers started doing the installation of the bricks for the main building.

L'installation des sièges dans la tribune en béton va bon train. D'ici deux semaines les employés de la firme Cordero Construction devraient avoir terminé l'installation. J'ai eu la chance de voir les sièges VIP. Ces sièges bien rembourrés sont fait en cuir! (voir la 6ième photo). Il ne manque que le gazon sur le terrain de match à 7 (dernière photo). Ce terrain est situé derrière la tribune Viau. Installation of the seats on the concrete stand is going well. In about 2 weeks it should be entirely completed by the employees of the Cordero Construction firm. I had the chance to see the VIP seats. They are nicely filled and are in leather! (check out the sixth picture). Only the grass is missing on the 7 player field (last picture) wich is located behind the Viau stand.

Surperbe surprise ce matin lors de mon arrivé! Le logo de l'Impact est complet à 80%. Le gradin Est (Viau) est enfin complèté et le terrassement derrière celui-ci est en cours d'exécution afin de préparer le terrain a 7 joueurs qui sera situé derrière celui-ci. Ce qui va servir d'entrée au stade prend forme et la pose des vitres se fait déjà pour l'immeuble pour les bureaux administratif. Excellent surprise this morning upon my arrival at the construction field. The Impact logo in the big General Admission stand is now 80% complete. The east stand (Viau) is finally completed and they are now leveling the field behind it to prepare the spot for the 7 player soccer field that will be there. The main entrance is taking shape and the installation of the windows on the main building have started.

Aujourd'hui la mise à jour est relativement petite. Les choses avances sur le chantier mais ce ne sont pas des choses très visuelles. En plus le beau temps se fait rare et les photos ont été prisent dans des conditions médiocres donc se sont loins d'être les meilleures. Contrairement à ce que je croyais lors de ma mise à jour du 4 octobre, le système d'éclairage n'est pas modifié mais bel et bien entièrement changé. Originalement, il y avait 224 projecteurs de 1000 watt chacun (sodium haute pression (lumière orangé)). Le nouveau système utilise 128 projecteurs de 1500 watt chacun aux halogénures métalliques (éclairage blanc), ce qui est grandement mieux pour la télédiffusions des matchs. Les projecteurs sont munis de visières qui récupèrent toute la lumière au-dessus de l'horizon pour la rediriger vers le sol. Ceci permet d'éviter du gaspillage de lumière vers le ciel alors que nous avons besoin de lumière au sol. Today, it is a small update. Things are doing good on the construction field but nothing new visually speaking. On top of this, weather conditions are not that great in the last few days and today I was limited in my shooting session because of very low light conditions and rain. Contrary on what I tought on my october 4th update, the light bulbs are not being changed but the entire lighting system is being changed!. The old system used 224 fixtures of 1000 watts each and used high pressure sodium lights (giving an orange tint). The Stadium is now equiped with 128 fixtures of 1500 watts each using metal halides light bulbs giving a white illumination wich is required for getting very good broadcast quality of the games. The fixtures are equiped with vizors that prevent the light of getting upward thus redirecting all the light on the playing field.

Beaucoup d'activité aujourd'hui! Les luminaires originaux sont désassemblés pour les refaire quelques peu et surtout changer les ampoules pour des ampoules beaucoup moins énergivores. La toiture du gradin des VIP est maintenant assemblé, c'est vraiment superbe! La tribune "Pierre-de-Coubertin" est pratiquement complèté, il ne manque que les sièges qui formeront le logo de l'Impact. Dans la prochaine mise à jour de la semaine prochaine, cela devrait être complèté. A lot of activity today! the original lights were brought down for maintenance and to change the bulbs for more economical ones. The structure of the VIP roof is now assembled, it looks just great! The "Pierre-de-Coubertin" stand is now almost completed all is missing are the seats that will form the Impact logo. In next week's update it should be done .

Quelle superbe matinée !!! La grande surprise de la journée est le début de l'érection de ce qui va être les loges! La structure d'acier est fort impressionnanne. L'édifice des bureaux avance rapidement. Toujours quelques sièges manquant dans la tribune "Viau" et quelques 800 sièges ont été installés dans la grande tribune "Pierre-de--Coubertin" nous devrions être en mesure de voir un début de logo de l'Impact dans la grande tribune dès la semaine prochaine. Finalement, laissez-moi vous dire que le gazon est d'une beauté incroyable. J'ai eu la chance aujourd'hui d'y mettre le pied, c'était un moment grandiose pour moi. L'avant dernière photo est un hommage aux 3 personnes qui sont des pilliers de la construction du Stade Saputo, messieurs je vous salut et je vous remercie grandement de toute votre aide que vous m'accordez! La dernière photo vous l'aurez deviné, c'est moi sur le terrain hehe le casque est vraiment laid par contre hahaha! What a great morning!!! the big surprise of the day is the start of the assembly of the steel structure of what will be the loges. This structure is really impressive. The officie building is getting along real good. There are still some seats missing in the "Viau" stand and some 800 seats have been installed on the "pierre-de-Coubertin" stand. We should be able to start seeing the Impact logo somewhere next week. Finally, let me tell you that the pitch is beautifull. I had the great chance of being allowed to walk on the pitch.. it was a memorable event for me!! The picture before the last one shows the 3 men that are responsible for the good construction of the Saputo Stadium, gentlemen I salute you and thank you for giving me some time when I come to visit you each week. The last picture, you could guest it... It's me posing proudly on the brand new pitch, the helmet is really ugly tough! hahahaha!

LA PELOUSE!!!! Vous ne pouvez même pas vous imaginer à quel point j'étais excité ce matin lorsque j'ai appris que l'installation de la pelouse tirait déjà à sa fin, je me suis précipité sur les lieus. C'est tout simplement magnifique de voir cette pelouse! Beaucoup d'arrosage en vue et idéalement la pelouse doit être coupé 10 fois avant l'arrivée de la neige. Le bâtiment qui logera les bureuax administratifs avance à bonne cadence aussi. THE PITCH!!! you cannot even imagine to what level I was excited this morning when I learned that the installation of the pitch was almost done so I decided to go right away at the construction field. Seeing the pitch for the first time was simply amazing. They are doing alot of watering and idealy the pitch must be lawnmoed at least 10 times before the arrival of snow. The building that will be the home of the offices is getting along pretty good also.

Grosse mise à jour aujourd'hui!. Je suis heureux de vous annoncer que dorénavent toutes les photos seront maintenant prises depuis l'intérieur du chantier de construction, ceci vous permettera de mieux voir les changements!! Cette semaine, début de l'installation des bancs dans la tribune populaire (Viau) . Je suis heureux de vous présentez les premières photos à avoir été prises depuis le haut du gradins populaire (Pierre-de-Coubertin). Laissez-moi vous dire que la vue est superbe du haut de ce gradin. Je pouvais facilement m'imaginez une foule en délire devant nos joueurs de l'Impact! Je sens sincèrement que l'ambiance sera extraordinaire dans ce stade!!!! J'aimerais prendre cette opportunitée afin de féliciter tous les travailleurs du chantier de construction, ils font un superbe boulot! Place aux photos... Big update today! Le gros changement de la semaine est que le gazon du terrain à complètement disparue signe qu'ils préparent tranquillement la surface. L'estrade "pierre de Coubertin" avance a petit pas. La toiture des toilettes est maintenant complèté et des ouvriers étaient en train d'installer ce qui semble être une plate-forme. The big change of the week is that the original pitch of the field is now history and they are now slowly preparing the surface. The "Pierre-de-Coubertin stand is getting shape slowly. the roofing of the washroom facilities is now completed and the workers seems to be installing some kind of platform.

Le gradin "Pierre-de-Coubertin" avance a grand pas tandis que le gradin "Viau" semble être presque terminé. J'ai vraiment hâte de voir l'allure que les gradins auront une fois les bancs installé. Bon visionnement!!! The "Pierre-de-Coubertin" stand is getting up real fast and the "Viau" stand looks almost finished. I'm really anxious to see what the stands will look like once the installation of the seats done.

Oh que ça avance!!!!! Qu'il est beau notre futur stade! je pouvais quasiment entendre la foule en délire déjà! Heheh mais non, je vire pas fou, mais je dois avouer que le Stade prend très belle forme! Le très grand gradin des admissions générales prend de plus en plus forme. La bâtisse principale (bureaux) prend aussi forme, les loges avance pas mal aussi! Voici vos photos de la semaine. Our future stadium is beautifull! I could almost hear a crowd!!! No, no I'm not getting crazy but agree with me that the stadium is getting is very good shape. The very big stand of the general admission is getting along just fine. Me revoilà officiellement de retour de vacances! Je vais pouvoir reprendre mes habitudes et continuer de vous faire des mises à jour sur ce site. Ma petite visite d'hier m'a permis de voir qu'il ont débuté l'assemble d'un deuxième estrade! La construction avance très rapidement et le stade prend de plus en plus une fière allure! Here I am officially back from vacation. I'm going to be able to get back to work and make updates on this website. My little visit of yesterdaygave me the chance to see that they have begun the construction of the second stand.

Pratiquement 1 mois sans mise à jour! Je m'en excuse énormément! Les vacances m'ont éloigné de l'ordinateur et en plus que ma plus jeune fille s'est fait hospitalisé pendant 4 jours (rien de grave). ce site internet reprendra son activité normal dès maintenant. Vacations kept me away from the computer and on top of this my youngest daughter had to be hospitalized for 4 days (nothing serious). This website will take it's normal activity starting now. La fondation de la bâtisse principale du Stade est maintenant fait! Les ouvriers travaillent pas mal sur les grandins Nord-Ouest. J'ai discuté avec une ouvrière du chantier et elle me disait que les estrades devrait faire leur entrée au début du mois de juillet. The fondations of the office building are done. the workers are doing their job on the North-west stand. I talked to a worker during her break and she mentionned that the steel structure of the stands should be getting there somewhere next week.

La pluie des derniers jours à surement fait ralentir les choses... Malgré tout, la construction va bon train et les ouvriers sont à préparer le terrain pour la construction des loges et bureaux administratif et bien sur du fait même à la rénovation des estrades déjà existantes. The rain showers of the last days will probably slow down work at the Saputo Stadium. The workers are preparing the area where the VIP rooms will be.

Pas beaucoup d'avancement cette smaine encore une fois. Les ouvriers travaillaient sur le système dégoût, donc installationde tuyauteries ABS etc... Les travaux avance un peu sur la région Nord du Stade (Entrée principale?) . Not too much going on this week. the workers are working on the drainage system for the stadium. Some workers on doing some work on the Northern part of the field? (Main entrance???)

Maintenant que les pilônes de béton sont coulés, nos copains de la construction s'attaque à la préparation de la construction des bureaux administratif de l'Impact (3 premières photos). Les deux dernières photos montrent une équipe de construction qui ont mis à plat la butte Nord du terrain. D'après la présentation virtuelle sur le site stadesaputo.com, cette endroit serait l'entrée Nord au Stade, cela semble être une entrée secondaire. Now that the concrete piers are poured, our worker friends are getting ready to attack the building of the Office building (first 3 photos). The last 2 photos shows the workers leveling a part of the area. From the ilustration found on stadesaputo.com it seems to be some sort of entrance, maybe a secondary entrance???

La météo n'a pas beaucoup coopérée cette semaine, ce qui fait en sorte que les travaux n'ont pas avancés autant que prévu. À certain endroits, il y avait encore des accumulations d'eau. Les surprises de la semaine sont l'installation d'une grande affiche au coin des rues Sherbrooke et Viau (première photo) et le début de ce qui semble être la nivelation du terrain ou se trouvera les bureaux administratif (avant dernière photo). Finalement, j'ai pu remarqué qu'il y a de plus en plus de clotûres de sécurité à des endroits que je trouve que ce n'est pas nécessaire. Certaines barricades ont une pancarte avec un message assez clair (dernière photo). The weather was not very cooperative lately slowing down work at Saputo Stadium. In some areas of the field there are some pretty good rain accumulation. The surprise of the week is a big board on Sherbrooke street (corner of Viau) and the leveling of where the Office building will be constructed. Finally, I noticed that there is more and more fences that prevents me from accessing some photo area.. a message warns tresspassers (see last picture).

La visite d'aujourd'hui montre que la préparation de la construction des gradins va bon train. J'ai la forte impression que les photos de la semaine prochaine montrerons un début de construction des gradins. Today's visit shows that the preperation of the construction of the stands is going well, I feel that we might see some interesting things next week.

Je prévoyais rendre visite au chantier de construction qu'une seule fois par semaine. Aujourd'hui, j,y suis allé par curiosité et j'ai été surpris par la rapidité des constructions, c'est pour cela que je rendrai visite 2 fois par semaine au besoin. Voici les photos de cette journée du 4 mai 2007. I was expecting to visit the construction site once per week.. Today I went and was surprised by how fast the construction is going that's why that from now on I might visit twice a week if needed. here are the pics for this day.

C'est le début des travaux! Ahhh que j'étais très content de voir ça ce matin. En réalité, je prévoyais me rendre que Mercredi, mais j'étais dans le coin, alors me suis dit que je devais arrêter... j'ai bien fait! It's the start of the construction!!!! I was really happy to see this, this morning. I was expecting to get there only Wednesday but I was in the area today and decided to stop... good thing I did!!!

Rien n'à été fait depuis ma visite du 19 avril dernier. La seule chose est qu'il y avait un kart de sécurité et un pick-up blanc qui étaient stationnés, mais rien d'autre... À quand le début? Nothing has been done since my first visit on April 19th. the only thing is a security kart that was parked far away.. nothing else. When will it start!!

Ces photos ont été prisent le lendemain de la première pelletée de terre officielle. C'était le calme plât! Seul une remorque du contracteur Broccolini est sur place. These pictures were taken the day after the official construction ceremonies. It was dead calm, only a trailer from the contractor Broccolini was on place.
